Accessibility Statement

This statement was last updated on November 1, 2025

Calgary Shuttles is committed to making our website, services, and operations accessible to all people, regardless of ability or the assistive technology they use. We believe in creating an inclusive environment that enables everyone to access information about our services, book reservations, and communicate with our team.

 Digital Accessibility Commitment

Conformance Status

We are actively working to ensure our website conforms to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, the internationally recognized standard for digital accessibility. This is consistent with the general principles of the Accessible Canada Act (ACA) and other Canadian accessibility regulations.

Accessibility Measures Taken

We have utilized the features of the site platform and implemented the following steps to maximize the accessibility of our site:

  • Platform Audit: We routinely use the built-in Accessibility Wizard to audit our site and implement recommended accessibility adjustments.

  • Keyboard Navigation: All essential features, including main navigation and interactive elements like booking and contact forms, are fully accessible and operable using a keyboard alone.

  • Alternative Text (Alt Text): All non-decorative images and graphics, including vehicle photos and logos, are provided with descriptive text alternatives for screen reader users.

  • Logical Structure: We use a clear and consistent semantic structure to organize content and ensure screen reader users can understand the page hierarchy.

  • Readability & Contrast: We maintain adequate colour contrast between text and background elements to ensure content is readable for users with low vision.

  • Forms and Booking: Our forms are clearly labelled and described to work effectively with assistive technologies.

Known Limitations and Ongoing Efforts

Despite our best efforts, we acknowledge there may be some known limitations which we are actively working to fix:

  • Third-Party Booking Systems: The online booking or payment systems provided by a third-party vendor may contain elements that are not yet fully compliant with WCAG 2.1. We are consulting with our vendors to address this.

  • Complex Graphics: Some complex route maps or graphical schedules may require additional effort to be fully accessible. We are developing accessible alternatives.

🚌 Physical and Service Accessibility

Calgary Shuttles is committed to providing a transparent and accessible experience for all our customers. Please be advised that we currently do not offer wheelchair-accessible vehicles within our fleet.

If you have an accessibility requirement or need assistance, we strongly encourage you to contact us directly before booking your service. Our team is available to discuss your specific needs and determine if we can provide alternative accommodations or referrals to a transportation provider that better meets your requirements.
